Bipolar Boot Camp, Part Two: TREASURE MAP

A treasure map sounds intriguing doesn't it? And you are going to need one for your bipolar boot camp experience. But the map you are going to use won't look like this:

Bipolar is a life threatening mood disorder which is why I have attached the term 'boot camp' to this series.

The 'free dictionary'defines boot camp as:

1.A training camp for military recruits.

2. A correctional facility that uses the training techniques applied to military recruits to teach usually youthful offenders socially acceptable patterns of behavior.

More recently the term 'boot camp' is used by exercise gurus to indicate that you will work hard, make some changes and get some results! It is  drastic, effective and necessary!

To build a defense against the symptoms of this chronic disorder requires a drastic, effective and necessary approach.

The Depression Getaway Bipolar Bootcamp will give you tools that will be useful, effective and necessary for you to live a full life, with bipolar.

You only need one really important thing before we start and that is a 'treasure map', that's right, a TREASURE MAP!

The treasure map you will need along the way is a lot less romantic and intriguing than the fantasy treasure maps. It looks clinical and serious and downright boring, plus hard work!

You can download a copy of this link, and get started.

Why chart your moods? I am so glad you asked!

"The mood diary can help you and your doctor monitor your illness. By gathering information about your mood, events in your life, sleep patterns and medications you are taking, you may notice patterns that would otherwise remain undetected. Taking your mood diary to your doctor will help him or her monitor your illness and treatment. If you find it difficult to complete the diary, a relative, partner or close friend may be able to help."

Mood charting will be the most important thing you do throughout this bipolar boot camp. First of all a mood chart is necessary to determine whether or not you are bipolar. We will refer to it over and over again. It is the most important piece of equipment in the arsenal of great stuff we are going to talk about.

Consider the mood chart like a bipolar bookkeeper. An accountant doesn't want descriptive words to see how a business is doing, it wants concrete numbers and charts. Same with monitoring bipolar.

A chart will show more information than you can when you attempt to answer the question: 'So, how have you been feeling lately?'

Just hand over that mood chart and your doctor can see all sorts of things that are worth knowing.

So, are you with me or not? This boot camp is not all absorbing or exhausting.

Bipolar is tough - I know that too well.

It can take over your life, it can even ruin your life. But it doesn't have to. There are so many tools that can make a big difference.
I would like to share some of those tools with you.

Even if you are not bipolar, the tips I will be sharing can still be helpful for you.

WHAT ABOUT YOU? How are you feeling today? Does the term 'bipolar' conjure up all sorts of extreme dramatic behaviors in your mind? Would you like to know more about it?

Don't give up! There is hope for depression. There is hope for bipolar. There is hope for every kind of mood disorder.
