What do Blue Jays and Squirrels have in Common?

The clue is in the picture. See the peanuts?

Do you now know what blue jays and squirrels have in common?

If you guessed that they both love peanuts, you'd be right!
And...they are both stashers, that's right, stashers.

As I write this it is fall in Ontario and one of the noisiest birds left in our yard is the blue jay. They are just as noisy as crows. By the way, did you know that they are in the same family? Crows are the ugly cousins I guess, blue jays the finer dressed but equally as noisy.

The most movement in our back yard comes from the falling leaves, the squirrels and the blue jays. I just don't remember noticing how busy blue jays were at this time of year before. Have I missed this all of these years?

I found an oak tree growing in my garden. When I pulled it out there was an acorn attached to it.

Could that acorn have been stashed by a blue jay?

Can we thank the beautiful blue jay for propagating the mighty oak tree?

SMALL THINGS CAN MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE!Unknown Object

The blue jay is proof of that!

This blog is based on the idea that small things can make a big difference.

If you are battling a deep dark depression right now, hang in there.
Do one small thing today. Call a friend. Go outside and look up at the sky. Have a chocolate bar. If you can't think of anything at all then try JUST ONE THING from my list of 101 free depression getaways.

Have you lost hope? DON'T! Don't you dare lose hope! You cannot afford to lose hope!

Hope is the one thing you must cling to.

Doing ONE SMALL THING just might change today from hopeless to hopeful.

Try HOPE, what have you got to lose?

The blue jay stashes away hundreds of acorns in the hope that it will be able to find just some of them throughout the winter.

The blue jay plants with hope.

You can plant hope too. Anyone can.

CHOOSE HOPE...

It makes all of the difference.

WHAT ABOUT YOU? How are you feeling today? Do you choose hope?

Don't give up! There is hope for depression.
