Your Perfect Retreat!

Last time we talked about retreating to prepare for advancing.

This would be a retreat of rest and relaxation and strengthening for the road ahead.

Which one of these pictures looks like an ideal retreat for you?

I put in the first picture just for fun. Isn't it amazing? Truly 'out of this world'! None of us could probably even afford that one. But we are just dreaming here so go ahead and choose one.

I chose the last one, the rocking chair on a porch. I have simple tastes and simple needs. I am not very adventurous or exciting or even interesting.

But what about you? Go ahead and imagine one of these retreats.

Depression doesn't look like any of these retreats does it? They are all so serene, relaxing, calming, neat and tiday, luxurious. Depression is not like that.

But that is what we need to be able to relax and continue living life. We need some serenity, relaxation, calm and order.

I know it is hard to retreat when you are battling thoughts. Retreat is not natural when you are fighting a war. But it is the best way to move forward.

And so my dear friend, choose one, imagine and take a daydream there.

Retreats can even happen in the mind!

WHAT ABOUT YOU? How are you feeling today? Could you use a retreat? Could you arrange for one? If your schedule is too busy, or you are too sick, could you take one in your imagination?

Whether you are someone who suffers from some sort of clinical depression or you are just have a bad day - don't give up! There is hope for depression.
