Kirk Cameron: "Connect"

Remember Kirk Cameron? He played Mike Seaver on the popular sitcom 'Growing Pains'.

He is still an actor but he has a Christian platform. He chooses to make films about significant social problems and shares his faith while doing so.

Kirk Cameron has created a revealing and practical documentary about social media aimed at parents.

It is called "Kirk Cameron: Connect" and is available on Netflix in Canada right now.

The movie description states:

In a social media-centered world, the smart phone has become a cultural rite of passage for kids. But is that rite all wrong? How can this generation of parents blaze a new trail to equip their kids to thrive in an ever-changing digital environment while steering clear of the dangers that lurk nearby?

I have spoken about social media before and the pitfalls it can create for depression.

This film brings further enlightenment to the dangers and the far reaching influence of social media especially on our young people.

This is a great resource, not only for your depression strategies collection, but for parents everywhere who are faced with the challenge of raising their children through the powerful influence of social media. Cameron points out that this is the first generation of parents to have to do that which makes them pioneers. Somehow using the word 'pioneers' and 'social media' together seems a little incongruous and yet accurate.

Couldn't resist sharing this. I do hope you will pass it along to all of the young parents you know.

WHAT ABOUT  YOU? How are you feeling today? Is your use of social media out of control or under control?

Don't give up! There is hope for depression.
