About Depression Getaway with Wendy Love

'Depression Getaway with Wendy Love' is based on my personal belief that there are things we can do to help ourselves even when we are depressed. The strategies I share I call "Depression Getaways" because that is what every post can potentially provide for you - a brief getaway from depression.

I hope and pray that just by reading some of this blog, you will get relief from your depression. And I guarantee that if you are willing to try some of the many strategies talked about here, you will definitely experience a getaway. This blog may even help you on your road to recovery.

Although depression can be immobilizing, there are things we can actually DO (demobilizing) that might make a little difference or maybe even a big difference. A lot of little differences could add up to make a BIG difference!

Sometimes I will challenge you to try something that I have presented. Are you up for a challenge? Does it seem kind to challenge someone who is suffering so much and feeling so weak and defeated? Is this not asking the impossible?

No, I don’t think it is. From laughing to crying, from resting to running, from dancing and singing, to exercising and eating, from writing and creating, to feeling and seeing, from tasting and listening, to…well… I could have you so busy you might almost forget you are depressed! I could even get you busy resting! Do you think that is possible? Are you willing to give it a try?

Depression is a terrible mental illness affecting every part of your life and I will never pretend it is not. But it is NOT hopeless. If you HAVE to be depressed, there is no better time than now. There are newer and better medications, a broadened public understanding, and more research than ever before on ways that you can improve your chances of living a full life, even with depression.

How will this blog help you?

*You will feel less victimized and more empowered by gaining knowledge about depression.

*You will be encouraged and inspired by my story and by others.

*You will be equipped with new strategies to support you and make your life more manageable and your depression easier to bear.

What have you got to lose? Haven't you lost enough already?

Don't give up! You are not alone. I am praying for you. There is hope for depression.
